The character, who made his on-screen debut last year

fighting for peace means murdering your own comrades

of your government's dirty deeds, among other things.

It was clear that Gunn was using the character

to comment on both the murderous exploits

Peacemaker isn't the first modern superhero

to ponder whether or not it can be ethical

and violate human rights in the name of the greater good.
