In the past, monogamy used to mean one marriage

till death do us part but we currently understand it

to mean engaging in one relationship at a time.

that despite most of Western society practicing monogamy,

lots of contemporary philosophers actually dig polyamory.

Two of the greatest philosophers of the 20th century

and total power couple, Simone De Beauvoir

and Jean-Paul Sartre were making the case

for consensual polyamory almost a century ago.

De Beauvoir was a pioneer of second wave feminism

as the father of 20th century existentialism.

Simone and Jean-Paul met in Paris in 1929

of what might be called a 50 year soul partnership
